Lip blushing is a semi-permanent tattoo that can enhance the color and shape of your lips and give the impression of more fullness. This is done by depositing color ink into your lips and along your lip line to improve the overall look. The color is subtle to give natural-looking results.

Aftercare instructions

Use one pump of the cleanser provided or QV cleanser to cleanse lips and rinse off with water. Do this morning and night. After cleaning, apply a “rice grain” amount of aftercare ointment with a cotton bud to the treated area. Be sure not to over-apply, as this will suffocate the skin and delay healing. NEVER put ointment on a wet or damp tattoo.

  • Use a fresh pillow case while you sleep

  • Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of colour.

  • No facials, injectables, chemical treatments, or microdermabrasion for 3-4 weeks

  • Avoid vigorous exercise for 2-3 days, 1 week if possible

  • Avoid direct sun or tanning for 4 weeks

  • Avoid topical makeup and sunscreen on the area for 2 weeks

  • Do not pick or scratch the treated area

  • Do not swim for 7-10 days

  • Choosing your color is the most fun part of your appointment! Together, we will select the best option based on your end goal, current lip tone and your skin’s undertone. 

  • You can expect your lips to be slightly swollen for 1–2 days, especially if you are very sensitive. You may also experience some itchiness, dryness or redness; this should subside within 7–10 days.

  • How long the lip blushing treatment will last varies from person to person as influenced by aftercare and lifestyle. Factors that can speed up the removal or fading away of your lip colour are:

    • smoking

    • sun exposure

    • skin exfoliation

    • Iron deficiency.

    However, lip blush generally lasts for around two to four years. To maintain the pigment, it is recommended to visit us every 18 to 24 months for refresh sessions. 

  • Lips will appear healed in about 5–7 days; however, lips take 4 weeks to fully heal.

  • Yes of course, but no lipstick or lip gloss on your lips for a minimum of 1 week. Use only the paw paw provided while they are healing!

  • The initial appointment is 1.5  hours long, and your touchup (4–6 weeks later) usually takes about 1 hour. 

  • Lip blushing procedure is done with the sole purpose of giving your lips a pigmented colour that looks natural. Lip blushing is not about making lips bigger. Although, because of the treatment, your lips might start looking more defined. 

  • Yes! Lip blush and filler pair wonderfully together and lots of clients have both! Just make sure to get your tattoo 4 weeks before or after your filler appointment.

  • We are trained in techniques that cause minimal to no pain. We also offer the option of topical aesthetic if needed to our clients. 

  • No vigorous exercise for 2 days, and no swimming for 1 week!
